What You’ll Do:
This internship will be project based. Below is a real project example of what you would be working on.
1. Develop a plan for weld destruct sequence per sub-assemblies and BIW and the subsequent manpower requirement for a timely execution of the tasks.
2. The established duration of the tasks will serve as the guideline for the development of the Joining teardown frequency standard for Plant 12.
Execution:
- Identify the Joints by their ID codes in the WPS Sheets per subassembly.
- Establish total amount of needed weld tear down based on the WPS information.
- Time estimates per Joint,15 minutes.
- Time estimate per joint includes:
- Placing the Assembly/ sub assembly /BIW in weld teardown.
- Preparing the needed tools for tear down.
- Executing tear down to requirement (check wet out/ cut and edge for SPR and FDS/ check weld nuggets size)
- Measure Cut and edge coupons on Pax system.
- Create the report for subassembly which includes all Measurements taken from Sub Assembly.
- Upload the created report to the Network.
- The created spread sheet should identify the joint tears downs which are eliminated due to the sub assembly tear down frequency established by available Manpower. The Manpower requirements will be assessed based on the total time needed for a complete tear down.
- The Spread sheet needs to be structured for:
- Joints per assembly
- Total time per person in hrs. (8 Hrs. per shift)
