Position Overview
Brandsymbol is in search of a highly motivated and creative individual to join our team as a market research intern. As a crucial contributor to our dynamic creative agency, you will be an integral part of our team, supporting our efforts to develop strong brand identities and innovative naming strategies. You’ll gain hands-on experience in various aspects of market research, contributing directly to the success of our branding initiatives. This is an opportunity to gain experience in a creative environment while working on diverse projects.
This internship program is scheduled to run from May-August, requiring a commitment of 25 hours or less per week. It provides a unique opportunity to learn in a creative environment while working on diverse projects, and gain insights into brand creation from our experienced professionals.
Objectives
- Participate in the end-to-end market research process from the agency’s perspective, involving the assessment of client Requests for Proposals (RFPs), deconstruction of project specifications, and the design and execution of market research projects from initiation to conclusion. This includes overseeing research methodologies, data collection, and analysis.
- Collaborate with the team to develop, refine, and tailor survey questionnaires to meet specific client requirements and target audiences.
- Program surveys using appropriate software/tools.
- Aid in coordinating fieldwork activities, monitoring data collection processes, and upholding data quality standards.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analyses to extract meaningful insights relevant to brand positioning and naming.
- Verify data accuracy, ensuring consistency and completeness of datasets for insightful analysis.
- Assist in creating presentations and reports summarizing research findings and insights for internal and client-facing purposes.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree in market research or a related field (statistics, math, computer science, business administration, social sciences, or communications, among others)
- Submission of cover letter, resume, transcripts, and three references.
- Demonstrated extra-curricular and community service activities.
Experience
- Highly motivated and proactive.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Effective decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with survey programming and statistical analysis software/tools not required but recommended.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen interest in branding and market research.
- Strategic thinking and ability to meet deadlines.
Required for Remote Work
(Note: We are open to in-person, remote, or hybrid work for this internship. To continue with a hybrid or remote position, the following conditions must be met.)
- Quiet workplace for focused work.
- Meets performance standards for alternative work arrangements.
- High-speed internet (100MB minimum) and video capability. Expected to share the camera during internal and external calls.
- Professional attire and deportment on video calls.
- Must be active on TEAMS and Outlook during working hours with the exception of lunch or small breaks. Must be available to chat and/or call during working hours.
- Technical requirements must be met before the first day of training.
