Cardiac Device Specialist
PrepMD Professionals LLC is looking to hire candidates as Cardiac Device Specialists working in a healthcare setting in a contract staffing role. These jobs are in high demand and there is a strong need for experienced or trained and professionally developed individuals in these roles.
The Cardiac Device Specialist is employed by PrepMD Professionals full-time and is assigned to a partnering healthcare provider location, being responsible to provide clinical, technical and related services in the area of Electrophysiology and Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIED’s). These individuals work closely with the physicians and patients providing high standard of care in a cardiology setting.
The responsibilities of the Cardiac Device Specialist includes:
- Does full evaluation and assessment of patients with pacemakers, ICD’s, CRT devices and ILR’s; Reprograms devices as required.
- Enrolls, interrogates and programs patients with cardiac devices and recognizes abnormalities, malfunctions and alert indicators.
- Assists in scheduling patients for follow up, remote monitoring, or replacement as indicated.
- Coordinates and prioritizes with other members of the healthcare team to respond to patients, plan, and initiate timely and efficient care.
- Educates patients and families regarding device function and remote and/or clinic follow up scheduling.
- Ensures timely and proper documentation and billing.
- Participates in the device recall team if necessary.
- Supports all aspects of documentation in the electronic CIED reporting system and the Electronic Medical Record.
- Maintains knowledge of hospital, department, and regulatory agency policies and requirements.
- Is available to perform duties in satellite and affiliate device clinics as needed.
Qualifications:
- 100% geographic flexibility required
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is REQUIRED
- 4 year bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) preferred
- Occupational Schooling: PrepMD Core Training Program or PrepMD Passport Series* (Provided by PrepMD, if offered the role)
- Willingness to participate in a provided 3 month training period (2 months online, 1 month in-person in Boston, MA)
- Strong communication skills and analytical skills
PrepMD Professionals Clinical Development Program:
The PrepMD Clinical Development Program offers an opportunity to enter into the high-demand career space of cardiac medical devices. We invest in candidates by granting access to top-notch learning resources in this field. Participants are first required to finish online learning and assessments, followed by a mandatory onsite training at our award-winning facility in the Boston area. All training costs (valued at $21,000) are covered by the company, and participants receive a salary and living expenses during the onsite training phase. Upon successful completion, candidates commit to a 2-year contract as a cardiac device specialist at one of our healthcare clients. Candidate must be willing to relocate and have full geographic openness and flexibility to go anywhere with the U.S. Throughout their tenure, employees continue to access online resources and professional development for ongoing career growth.
