Overall Job Function:
The South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (SCCADVASA) is the collective voice promoting the prevention of domestic violence and sexual assault in South Carolina.
We are currently hiring a full-time Program Coordinator of Housing and Membership. The
primary focus of this position is to support the development and implementation of effective support and capacity building strategies of SCCADVASA’s member organizations and to lead SCCADVASA’s housing project. The ideal candidate will preferably be located or willing to locate to the Columbia, South Carolina metropolitan area.
Please note: This is not a position providing direct services to victims and survivors.
Position Details:
• Lead the housing project, to include coordinating individual and group technical assistance, serving on committees related to housing and homelessness, creating and disseminating resources for member organizations, and collaborating with coalition staff and other partners.
• Gather and become familiar with information and resources from SCCADVASA member
organizations and national technical assistance providers on the intersection of domestic and sexual violence and homelessness.
• Identify, respond to, and track technical assistance requests and trends to develop coalition support of member organizations and evolving best practices in holistic service provision.
• Work closely with the Training team to identify educational topics and programs.
• Assist direct supervisor and executive leadership in grant reporting as requested.
• Serve as faculty on SCCADVASA training and education initiatives to include SCCADVASA’s Victim Service Provider trainings.
• Timely data entry and ongoing record-keeping of deliverables to ensure the fulfillment of
federal and state grant requirements.
• Willingness to work within a team approach to assist victims, survivors, and other members of the public via telephone and other forms of communication in the provision of referrals to supportive services.
• Participate in organizational learning activities.
• Ability to travel and represent SCCADVASA at national and statewide meetings.
• Perform routine administrative/office tasks as required.
• All other tasks as assigned.
Requirements and Skills:
• An understanding of the dynamics of intimate partner and sexual violence and a
willingness to continue to expand knowledge in this area.
• Strong knowledge of housing systems, including shelter, transitional housing, and HUD
housing, and housing policy and its intersection with domestic and sexual violence.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Excellent computer skills, including advanced features of MS Office, including Excel, Office 365, file-sharing programs, Zoom, and willingness to learn and use agency specific
database and software programs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and
effectively with agency staff and external partners and communities.
• Effective communication skills.
• Must work well independently and collaboratively with others.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask, attention to detail, and work well within time
constraints.
• Must be able to secure reliable transportation, including driver’s license and proof of
insurance, if necessary, when travel is required.
• Flexible scheduling to allow for work outside of regular business hours may occasionally
be required.
Compensation and Perks:
• Starting Salary Range: $42,500-47,500 annually (depending on experience).
