JOB SUMMARY: Prepares food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment
JOB DUTIES:
- Prepares food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards.
- Starts food items that have been prepared in advance, making sure not to overestimate needs.
- Dates all food containers and rotates, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
- Checks pars for shift use, determines necessary preparation, pulls food items from freezer and sets-up line.
- Notes any out-of-stock items or possible shortages. Assists in keeping the line stocked.
- Returns unused food items to designated storage areas, making sure to cover and date all perishables.
- Assists in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems and to control food waste.
- MUST be able to work a flexible shift that includes: Days, Afternoons, Nights and Weekends. Plus, work Holidays as well, if needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school education or equivalent and/or college degree in an accredited Culinary progra
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Able to work overtime as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand, walk and regularly move about kitchen, bend, remain stationary for short periods of time, reach, hear, see, talk, grasp, perform repetitive motions and use fingers
- Ability to push, pull, lift, carry or otherwise move carts, food cases, metros, and similar items weighing up to 70 lbs.
