Summer Internship Stipend Program
This program provides financial support for students undertaking internships during the summer. Applications for stipend awards, ranging from $1,000 to $2,500, are accepted monthly from February through May.

Eligibility:

  1. Must have a guaranteed internship at the time of application.
  2. Must exemplify a need for a stipend.
  3. Internship duration must be at least eight weeks with a minimum of 30 hours a week and meet NACE’s definition of an internship.
  4. You must include a signed and dated copy of your internship contract or offer letter from your internship supervisor.
  5. A FAFSA application must be filed with the Financial Aid Office. *This does not apply if you are an international student.
  6. Applicants must not receive simultaneous funding from other programs, such as the Bonner Scholars Program’s Summer of Service funding or research grants from Wofford consecutively.
  7. Must be enrolled as a student during the internship period (you cannot have graduated).
  8. Internship must help you better understand the type of industry you would like to pursue post-graduation.

STIPENDS RANGE FROM $1000-$2500

The Wofford Career Center will partner with the Financial Aid Office to define a financial need, primarily using information students provide on their FAFSA.

The Career Center reserves the right to close the application process before May, depending on the amount of stipend money available. If students lose or choose not to participate in their internship, they are expected to return the funds to Wofford. The student must be enrolled at Wofford College for the duration of their internship to receive the funding.

Internship funding for Summer 2026 will be available on a rolling basis starting in February 2026. If funding permits, the last applications will be accepted in May 2026.

Preference will be given to first-time applicants and students demonstrating financial need.

The proposed timeline is as follows:

February 2026

  • Applications accepted Feb 2 – Feb 22
  • Stipends will be announced on Feb 27, via email

March 2026

  • Applications accepted Mar 2 – Mar 22
  • Stipends will be announced on Mar 31, via email

April 2026

*If stipend money is available

  • Applications accepted Apr 1 – Apr 19
  • Stipends will be announced on Apr 28, via email

May 2026

*If stipend money is available

  • Applications accepted Apr 22 – May 10
  • Stipends will be announced on May 14, via email
